Research - Musings on Old Norse poetry and Viking Age art.

Craftsmanship - Fine woodworking and woodcarving projects.

PhD in Scandinavian Languages and Literatures awarded from the University of California, Berkeley in Fall 2015. Dissertation focuses on the intersections of Old Norse literature and Viking Age art.

Graduate Student Instructor at University of California, Berkeley, 2009-2012. Designed curriculum and taught Reading and Composition courses.

Master of Fine Arts degree awarded in New Media from the Transart Institute accredited by the University of Donau Krems, Austria. Emphasis in film and animation. Art projects include stop-frame animated films. Research in Old Norse myth and Germanic literature inform the narratives. Completed Summer 2008.

Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude in German awarded from Humboldt State University, May 2008.

2005 - 2007: Lecturer at Humboldt State University in the Theatre, Film and Dance department. Classes taught: Cinematography I and Audio Production I & II.

Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude in Multimedia Design and Communications awarded from Humboldt State University, August 2005. The three disciplines of study that make up the Interdisciplinary Studies Major: Film, Journalism, and Computer Information Systems.

2003 - 2004: Employed as Multimedia Designer at Courseware Development Center, Humboldt State University.

A. S. in Multimedia Communications from College of the Redwoods. Graduated in Spring, 2002 as an Outstanding Scholar. Awarded Digital Media Student of the Year 2001/2002.

1989 – 1999: Designer/Craftsman of fine furniture and cabinetry in Ashland, Oregon. Also engaged in free-lance Architectural Photography.

1978 – 1989: Designer/Craftsman of fine furniture and cabinetry in Berkeley, California.

1973 – 1978: Resided in Northern Europe, primarily in Norway, and worked as a furniture maker. Received Journeyman’s papers in 1976. Employed in antique restoration in Marburg, Germany 1977 - 1978.

Born in Santa Monica, California July 27, 1954. Graduated from Pacific Palisades High School in 1972.
